The job that interests me is the Tour Manager, Fruit Pie Music Production Ltd job because I would like to be touring famous singers and go round the world with them.
- Describe the skills that you think may be required to excel at this job and say why they are important.
I think that I might need some experience on being a tour manager. Also I will need to have problem solving, communication, leadership, interpersonal/social and organisation skills. I also think that I have to meet all my deadlines given to me.
- What are the main DOs and DON’Ts of the job?
You have to do everything that the famous people tell you to do and just do everything that you can actually do. You should enjoy what you are choosing to do and be organised, work hard and have fun. I think the thing that you are not supposed to do is that you shouldn’t panic or be afraid of anything. Also you must never lose your temper with the band and never give there secrets away to the public or the media.
- Does the job involve issues of risk and health and safety? Explain.
Sometimes you have to take risks because you have to be looking after the famous singers etc…
- Is this a very competitive job market? Are there usually many vacancies for such a post? Yes, I think that this market is a very competitive job market because you need to be committed to do it and you have to be able to work with someone you don’t even like.
- Are most people in this job free lancers or regular salary workers, or is it balanced? You have to be a free lance worker for this job market because you go round the world and some of the times you don’t get paid because you look for work yourself.
- a) Why do you think that you are right for the job? I think I am right for this job because I don’t mind being told what to do and I would like to work with famous people and go round the world.
